We are excited to advise everyone that the Fox Creek Wine end of season meet will be proceeding!
Despite the many scheduling conflicts with other sports, we are moving forward with what will be a completely different approach to athletics and a fun day of racing to end the season.
THE FORMAT
Racing starts at 12.30 and all events will be finished by 4.15. in time for presentations of the Athlete of the Year and other End of Season awards.
We will be racing in 6 categories U14, U18 combined, Open Men, Open Women, Over 35 and Para Athletes. You will compete in three rounds over the 50m distance and will be awarded points based on where you finish.
After 3 rounds, those with the most points will compete in a 5 person final.
There will also be an Open Mile through the vines and surrounds.
HANDICAPPING
Our handicappers have been instructed to provide all competitors with a handicap to meet target time irrespective of time in our sport. Handicaps can and will be changed between rounds to ensure tight finished in every race. The meeting is not an official meet for handicapping purposes so is of course non-penalty.
MUSIC
A DJ will be in attendance, and we are hoping to play a few of your favourite songs (especially when you line up). To help us with this please send us the name of your favourite song so we can put your song on the playlist.
PRIZES
Each competitor will receive a great bottle of wine courtesy of Fox creek and a $30 tasting voucher for you to use on a return visit.
Sashes will be up for grabs for each race as well as a share of the prizemoney.
FOOD AND BEVERAGES
Come along and enjoy the beautiful surrounds at Fox Creek Wine even if you aren’t racing. Food and beverages will be available to purchase throughout the event.
We can’t wait to see you all there and looking forward to catching up with you for a bite and a relaxing drink or two after afterwards to celebrate the season!
